The Arboretum is noted on the Tree Register as “A unique record of notable and ancient trees in Britain and Ireland” and as one of the notable tree collections in Surrey.  The collection comprises some more unusual, interesting and rare trees including: an American Button wood, Simon’s Poplar, Cork oak, American White Oak and a collection of Southern Beech. Visit during May to see the impressive flowers of the Indian Horse Chestnut while during autumn colourful leaf displays of the Maple collection can be enjoyed. The Arboretum can be accessed by the memorial benches at Sutherland House.

Every Tuesday, there is a hubbub of activity in the Student’s Union building, located in the centre of the Campus. The extremely popular market sells fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, cakes and Chinese goods.

Offering something different every day from Monday – Thursday, our street food vendors can be found in between The Founder’s and Windsor Buildings. Catering for all tastes, there are a range of street food options including Indian, Lebanese and Thai. The atmosphere around the carts is always buzzing, with background music adding to the experience and chefs cooking in front of the customer, creating an altogether sociable atmosphere.
